OMPA MENTORSHIPS


Purpose

To allow student members of the OMPA to benefit from the experience of professionals in Oregon’s media production industry. In sharing best practices, mentors help mentees develop professionalism to shape successful careers.

Outcome

To add value to Oregon’s media production industry.

Eligibility

• The program is only available to current student members of the OMPA (current students or those within one year of graduation.)
• Mentors who are members of OMPA are strongly preferred.

Application materials

• A prioritized list of 1-3 proposed mentors.
• A letter of support from the student’s educational organization.
• A resume
• A description of goals desired to be met through the mentorship program (not to exceed 500 words)
• $15.00 application fee

Application Process

• All materials (except the application fee) must be submitted in a single email to the OMPA at info @ ompa (dot) com, and “mentorship” must be in the subject line.
• The $15.00 application fee should be mailed to:

• Incomplete applications will not be processed.

Mentorship Guidelines

• Last no less than 4 months
• Include at least one face to face meeting
• Have at least one meeting a month
• Job shadows are encouraged
• Weekly contact through e-mail or phone is encouraged
• Written objective feedback
